Modern Progressivism

Huge news to all fans of Spiro!

A new album-ready song has been added to the site. The latest is called Only the Sun and it's one of the best sounding songs made so far.

Ryan and Dan are heading up another guerilla recording session this Friday, so hopefully another song will be put up next week sometime.

For anybody who went to the website within the last 30 minutes may have been a little surprised at the reception they recieved. While the site was being updated a filler page was posted in its place, complete with cheesy sound effects. If you, for some reason, desire to see this aberration, click here.

If you think the blog is not updated often enough, the band welcomes your comments regarding how to better utilize this tool. If you would like to see what else rages through the minds of band members Ryan and Dan, visit their respective personal blogs for all things not band-related.

Thanks for all of your support, the CD is near completion.

Come Look At Us

5 new pictures have been added to the site, all of them outtakes or alternative pictures left over from the Demo Team photo shoot at Laguna Lake.

Good news! With the last 2 songs we recorded almost done and ready to show to the world, that means there's only 1 song left to record before this album is considered "complete." We'll have the songs added to the site soon, and the lyrics will be up even sooner (check back tonight or tomorrow).

Watch for updates as the story develops.

An Update

A new picture has been posted on the Images section of the website. It's our first taste of having a superfan and we must say, it's great and kind of creepy at the same time. The picture is on the second page of images, just click on the "next arrow" and it'll take you there.

A new name has also been added to the Spiro's Friends page. He is called Pete Fedewa and has really been an asset to the band by helping us extend our network of contacts.

In other news, we're still working hard at finishing up the two songs we recorded last week. They're coming along great and sound quite amazing. We can't wait to share them with everybody. We'll have their lyrics up as soon as possible so you can see what you're getting into.

Dan & Ryan will be at the 2 Dogs Coffe Co. this Thursday night (4/7) during San Luis Obispo's Farmer's Market festivities. We won't be playing, but to see a fellow musician named Jen Scaffidi play. She's a very original musician from Nevada and we can't wait to meet her and see how she performs. Everybody should come see her, too, for she's much better looking than Dan & Ryan combined. Be there at 8pm to see her entire set.

Anyway, keep a good thought,

A Quick Note

We put up a new recording of an old song. It's a quick recording Ryan did of "Roda Los Barriles," a Spanish tune that Ryan wrote with Shane many years back.

We also recorded 2 more songs that need a little polishing before we put them up on the site. Against the previous report, You Don't Need Me was not recorded, but another classic Spiro rocker, Believe In Me, was recorded. We also slapped together a tune called Only The Sun. They both sound really good, and we can't wait to get them to everybody that wants to hear them.

Keep a good thought,

-Dan & Ryan
